Joe Speaks in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS– Joe Gibbs is a three-time Super Bowl winning coach, a successful NASCAR team owner and author who recently added another title to his resume– motivational speaker.

Gibbs was in Grand Rapids on Tuesday at Cornerstone University as part of a nationwide tour to speak about his book “Game Plan for Life,” which details his approach to life success.

Gibbs, who led the Washington Redskins to Super Bowl titles in 1983, ’88, and ’92, spoke for more than 45 minutes to a crowd of about 800 people at Cornerstone’s HansenAthletic Center.

Gibbs, who also speaks frequently at prisons, said his events are grassroots attempts at reaching people who are “unsaved.”

“That’s the game plan,” he said. “The most important message is that there is a loving God. (Life) is all a gift. I try to share with people the most important message I think I can share. We want to have a personal relationship with the Lord, and want to be on the winning team when this game on earth is over.”
