On to our ministry update…I want to mention a couple of dates coming up when I will be speaking.  I'll be speaking in Raleigh, NC on March 23rd; Tampa Bay, FL on April 28th; Concord, NC on May 28th; and Atlanta, GA on June 29th.  Maybe through one of the committees in those cities, you will have a chance to attend one of these events.  These events are typically in the mornings from like 7am-9am.  It's a chance for me to give my testimony.

We had a meeting last week with LifeWay.  The small group study will be released in July.  We did video introductions for that study here at the race shop and at a football complex as well.  I think you're really going to enjoy that.  And of course Zondervan is still working on the Game Plan For Life Bible, New Testament Study, and a Devotional.

Each week I share something that I've studied in the Bible or in a devotional.  I was studying in a little devotional this morning and I wanted to share this with you.  We worry about our country all the time.  I worry for my grandkids more so than me.  What kind of world will they grow up in?  What kind of society will we have?  I pray almost every night for the decision makers in this country.  I pray that they will make godly decisions.  I pray this for our President, our administration, and our court systems because that is the game plan for our country.  In history, we've seen countries that have followed God's principles and it has led them to success and those who have veered away from God's principles and has led them to disaster.  In the devotional I was reading, it told the story of a historian named Gibbon.  Gibbon was not a Christian.  He studied Rome and what caused their downfall.  In his study, he listed five things that led to Rome's downfall:

1.  Undermining the dignity and sanctity of the home
There was an attack on the home and the home started to decay.  Think about America, we have almost half of our marriages end in divorce.

2.  Higher and higher taxes
That one jumped out at me!  We're going through that process right now.

3.  A mad craze for pleasure
That's a scary thing when we think about America.  We are always wanting more.

4.  Building of great armaments when the enemy was within
In Rome, they were building these great armaments to protect themselves.  The fall of Rome though didn't happen from an enemy attack; it came from the inside.

5.  The decay of religion
Remember, Gibbon was not a Christian so this is an interesting point.

When you look at that, you realize we need to be praying for our leadership and taking a stand as citizens.  Our principles should come out of God's word.  I pray that America would take a diligent stand for God's word.
