Around this time of year, gyms across the country are packed with people who declare, “This is the year I am going to get in shape and get healthy!” But what is health? Is it just being physically healthy? One of my good friends, Walt Latimore, outlines four areas of health:
1. Physical Health
2. Emotional and Mental Health
3. Spiritual Health (relationship with God)
4. Relational Health (with others)
Until we get all four of these areas in-line, we will never be truly healthy. What is the point of getting your physical body in-shape if you are sad? What is the point of having healthy relationships with friends and family if you feel there is a void in your life? There is only one thing that can get you fully healthy: a relationship with God. It’s surprising what a life filled with prayer, reading God’s Word, and fellowship with other believers can be. Try it for yourself. If you need help, check out chapter 11 of the Game Plan For Life book. If you don’t have a book, request one here.
Once you have a relationship with God, you'll never look back.
