CHARLIE WARD
COLLEGE BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL
AND NBA PLAYER FOR THE KNICKS
Charlie Ward was a two-sport college athlete at Florida State University. He won a Hesiman as quarterback and was an incredible point guard. He helped lead FSU to their first-ever National Championship under Coach Bobby Bowden. After graduating, Charlie was drafted twice by MLB and was a first-round draft pick of the New York Knicks. He went on to play for the Knicks and helped the team reach the playoffs six consecutive years from 1996 to 2001. He played eleven seasons as a leading point guard in the NBA.
Charlie had much success as an athlete, but he was not without struggles. Watch the video below on how, through Christ, he overcame addiction. Together with his wife, Charlie underwrote and produced youth development sports camps throughout the country from 1996-2006. In 2015, they officially founded the Charlie Ward Family Foundation to leave a legacy of giving back and to share his inspirational message of embracing the process that leads to success.
